Mechanical Parts
Get on to the bike, and you’ll barely feel the weight of the motorcycle. The seat is nice and comfortable, and the seating posture for the rider is upright. It isn’t difficult to deal with in traffic. However, wind blast can be felt. The bike feels light and nimble around corners, thanks to the light aluminium chassis and frame. The bike feels stable even at high speeds. It changes directions effortlessly and the tyres provide good feedback. While the front suspension soak in the bumps well, the rear feels a bit stiff. Acceleration is a bit jerky, but the brakes perform very well. At the front, the bike rides on telescopic oil-damped suspension, while the rear gets a link type mono suspension. As far as the chassis is concerned, it is built around an aluminium twin-spar frame. The GSX-S1000 runs on 120/70 ZR-17 tyres at the front and 190/50 ZR-17 tyres at the rear. Retardation duties are taken care of by disc brakes at the front and at the rear.
